Trail running in the heart of the Écouves forest massif
Created in 2003, the Trail d'Écouves and Pays d'Alençon has established itself as one of the unmissable trail events in Normandy. Organized in Radon, a town located at the gates of the Écouves forest massif — which peaks at 417 meters, the highest point in Western France — this event offers demanding and varied courses in an exceptional natural setting.
The Trail d'Écouves offers a range of races suitable for all profiles:
In addition to the trail races, 10 and 15 km hikes and Nordic walking courses are offered on Sunday, as well as children's races, making the event a sporting celebration open to all.
The Écouves forest massif, a Natura 2000 site, offers an incomparable playground for trail running. The courses follow forest paths, hollow lanes lined with century-old beech trees, heather moors, and ridges offering panoramas of the Norman bocage and the Alpes Mancelles. The diversity of soils and reliefs makes these races a real technical challenge.
The area benefits from the Trail Station label, offering marked and maintained routes throughout the year. The Trail d'Écouves is the annual highlight of this station, bringing the trail community together in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
24th edition of the Écouves and Pays d'Alençon Trail, from June 5 to 7, 2026 in Radon (61). Five trail distances from 8 km to 100 km (new for 2026), hikes, Nordic walking, vetathlon and children's races in the Écouves forest massif.
The 2026 edition of the Écouves and Pays d'Alençon Trail will take place from Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the traditional Saint-Jean site in Radon, at the gates of the Écouves forest massif. The major novelty of this 24th edition is the appearance of a new 100 km format with 3,500 m of positive elevation gain, which is added to the event's historical distances.
In addition to the trails, the weekend offers hikes of 6, 8 and 16 km, Nordic walking courses (leisure on Saturday, timed on Sunday), a vetathlon combining 4 km of running, 16 km of mountain biking and 4 km of running, as well as children's races (800 m, 1.5 km and 3 km, on-site and free registration).
Friday, June 5 is dedicated to school activities, with races organized for students in the area. Throughout the weekend, a nature village brings together local associations, producers and artisans from the region.
The event supports the Handi'Chiens association through the La Natur'Elles race (reserved for women) and a solidarity fund is dedicated to children with disabilities.
