The Vercors Music Festival: music at the heart of the Vercors massif
Since its creation in 2015, the Vercors Music Festival has established itself as a must-attend musical event in Isère. Located in Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors, at the foot of the Vercors mountains, this festival offers a unique experience where music blends with the magnificent landscapes of the Alps. Supported by the association Vercors en Scènes and labeled Réseau SPEDIDAM, the festival has grown year after year, from 6,500 spectators at its first edition to over 16,000 festival-goers in 2019.
An eclectic and demanding program
The strength of the Vercors Music Festival lies in its ambitious and diverse program, designed by artistic director Jean-Philippe Bruttmann. Each edition offers a musical journey through genres: rock, French chanson, reggae, world music, jazz, hip-hop, electro, soul, and funk. Over the years, the festival has hosted renowned artists such as Keziah Jones, Asian Dub Foundation, Les Wampas, Massilia Sound System, Danakil, Izïa, Romeo Elvis, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Fatoumata Diawara, Ladaniva, Flavia Coelho, and Biga*Ranx.
This musical diversity is at the heart of the festival's identity, which aims to reach all audiences and encourage the discovery of new artists alongside recognized headliners.
Strong territorial roots
The Vercors Music Festival is deeply rooted in its territory. Born from a public desire to boost the early summer season in the Vercors massif, the festival is supported by the Communauté de Communes du Massif du Vercors and the Municipality of Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors. Organizers prioritize short supply chains: food trucks source over 50% of their ingredients from local and seasonal products, drinks and ice creams come from the massif, and technical equipment is borrowed from local structures.
A committed and responsible festival
The VMF stands out for its strong commitments to accessibility and sustainable development. Labeled H+ by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the festival offers facilities adapted for people with disabilities: accessible restrooms, lowered bar counters, adapted camping, wheelchair rental, trained volunteers for assistance, priority access lanes, and accessible concert platforms. Companions receive a free pass.
Environmentally, the festival is committed to an eco-responsible approach with waste reduction, public awareness, and the use of local resources.
A friendly atmosphere in the heart of nature
With around 160 volunteers mobilized for each edition, the Vercors Music Festival cultivates a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. The meadow camping, reserved for tents, contributes to the festival's natural spirit. Artists themselves often extend their stay, charmed by the exceptional alpine setting. The festival also offers a Summer Camp with fun and wellness activities in addition to the concerts, providing a complete experience for festival-goers.
