The Science Festival in Ardèche at Tournon-sur-Rhône
There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
The Village des Sciences de l'Ardèche is a major event organized as part of the national Fête de la science. Held in Tournon-sur-Rhône, this annual October gathering offers over 80 interactive activities for all ages, making science an accessible and exciting playground.
The Village des Sciences offers an extremely rich program: interactive stands, science games, shows, virtual reality, exhibitions, and creative workshops. Visitors can learn to make soap, participate in a waste recycling competition, discover how photovoltaic panels work, or explore water management and composting methods.
The 2024 edition paid tribute to Marc Seguin, an emblematic engineer from Ardèche, on the occasion of the bicentenary of his famous passerelle de Tournon (Tournon footbridge), built in 1825 and considered the first large suspension bridge in continental Europe. This tribute illustrates the festival's commitment to connecting contemporary science with local historical heritage.
The Village des Sciences is entirely free and open to everyone, from the youngest to the oldest. The activities are designed to be fun and educational, allowing everyone to understand current scientific issues in a concrete and interactive way. The festival is a prime event for families and schoolchildren in the region.
The event takes place over a weekend in October, traditionally at the Collège Marie Curie in Tournon-sur-Rhône. The two days allow visitors to explore the various stands and participate in the many activities offered. The Village des Sciences is part of the national Fête de la science network coordinated by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
ℹ️ 2026 edition not held in Tournon-sur-Rhône. The Village des Sciences de l'Ardèche is an itinerant departmental event hosted each year in a different commune. Tournon-sur-Rhône hosted the 2024 edition (at Collège Marie Curie, on the occasion of the bicentenary of the Marc Seguin footbridge). For 2026, the departmental Village des Sciences will be held elsewhere in Ardèche — at the domaine du Pradel in Mirabel (Olivier de Serres site), on October 11 and 12, 2026, as part of the Fête de la science (October 2 to 12, 2026, theme "Savvy Flavours"). No edition is therefore scheduled in Tournon-sur-Rhône in 2026.
The Village des Sciences de l'Ardèche is coordinated by the CCSTI de l'Ardèche (L'Arche des Métiers) as part of the Fête de la science. Its particularity: it is itinerant and sets up each autumn in a different commune of the department (Tournon-sur-Rhône in 2024, the domaine du Pradel in Mirabel for 2025 and 2026).
There is no edition of the Village des Sciences in Tournon-sur-Rhône in 2026. The departmental Fête de la science 2026 takes place from October 2 to 12, with its central village at Pradel in Mirabel on October 11 and 12, 2026 (free entry, over 60 activities). "Fête de la science" activities may occasionally be offered elsewhere around Tain-Tournon, but the main Ardèche Science Village will not return there in 2026.
