About Vivier(s) de BD

Vivier(s) de BD is a comic strip festival organized every year in June in Viviers, an episcopal city in the south of Ardèche. Since its creation in 2021, the festival has offered author signing sessions, exhibitions, drawing workshops, illustrated concerts, escape games, musical readings, and a festive guinguette. The event, free and open to all, takes place in the Jardins de l'Hôtel de Ville under the artistic direction of Sylvie Moretto.

Vivier(s) de BD, comics come to Viviers

Vivier(s) de BD is a comic strip festival that takes place every year at the beginning of June in Viviers, a magnificent episcopal city in the south of Ardèche. Created in 2021, the festival has quickly found its audience by offering a rich and accessible program for everyone.

Signings, exhibitions, and workshops

The heart of the festival lies in the signing sessions with comic strip authors and illustrators. Thematic exhibitions highlight works and artists, such as the exhibition “Spotlight on the Godillots” by Marko, patron of the 2025 edition, or the universe of “Magic Charly” by Audrey Alwett. Drawing workshops led by professional artists allow visitors to discover the art of comics.

A festive and diverse program

Beyond comics, the festival offers illustrated concerts mixing live music and illustration, escape games, musical readings, children's games, and a festive guinguette. The 2025 edition also featured a tribute exhibition to Etienne Willem and a showcase of young Viviers artists.

An exceptional heritage setting

Viviers, classified among the most beautiful villages in Ardèche with its cathedral, its medieval streets, and its remarkable architectural heritage, offers a unique setting for this cultural festival. The Jardins de l'Hôtel de Ville host the main activities, in a green and pleasant setting in the heart of the episcopal city.

A free and family-friendly event

Admission to the festival is free, making the event accessible to the greatest number. Vivier(s) de BD is a family event par excellence, with activities suitable for all ages. The festival is organized under the artistic direction of Sylvie Moretto, an event organizer specializing in comic strips since 1995.

Vivier(s) de BD — edition 2026

6th edition of Vivier(s) de BD in Viviers, a free comic strip festival in Ardèche, on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026. With Nora Moretti as patron, Morocco as guest country and 30 authors for signings, the edition also offers comic-concerts, comic battle, escape game, retrogaming, drawing workshops and a SMAC 07 concert evening.

6th edition: a patron, a guest country, 30 authors

For this 6th edition, Vivier(s) de BD takes place on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026 in the Gardens of the Viviers Town Hall, with preliminary activities starting on Wednesday, June 3 (meetings in libraries and schools). Admission remains free and the festival is open to all.

The 2026 edition honors illustrator Nora Moretti (Princesse Sara, Jardin des Fées) as the festival's patron and welcomes Morocco as the guest country. 30 comic strip authors and illustrators from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the rest of France, Europe and Morocco will be present for signing sessions, live demonstrations and meetings with the public.

Many new features on the program

In addition to the festival's must-sees (signings, workshops, exhibitions, children's games, open-air café), the 2026 edition offers several new features: comic-concerts combining live music and projected illustration, a comic battle pitting several authors against each other in a graphic duel, a retrogaming area, as well as a concert evening organized in partnership with SMAC 07 (Ardèche Contemporary Music Scene).

As every year, a life-size escape game, musical readings, Smurf hunts, thematic exhibitions and drawing workshops led by the invited authors complete the program. The open-air café welcomes visitors with its refreshment stand, food trucks and concerts throughout the weekend.
