A competition in six categories
The championship brings together contestants from all over France and beyond, who compete in six categories:
- Authentic Fry: The traditional fry, double-fried in beef fat, judged on its color, crispiness, and flavor.
- Family Fry: The Sunday fry, the one prepared with love at home.
- Creative Fry: Unleash your imagination! Contestants reinvent the fry with innovative ingredients and techniques.
- World Fry: The fry travels and is enriched with flavors from around the world.
- Rising Star Fry: Category reserved for culinary school students.
- Fry Sauces: Hot and cold, the sauces that accompany the fry are also in competition.

The World French Fry Championship is a true popular festival that animates the Grand'Place of Arras all day long:

- Disco Frite: The Grand'Place transforms into a giant dance floor for a festive evening.
- Masterclasses: Chefs share their secrets for making the perfect fry.
- Craft Beers: Local brewers offer their creations as accompaniments.
