Île-de-France Pentecost weekend May 22-24, 2026: 11 festivals worth booking

Marvellous Island electronic festival in Torcy, vintage aircraft meeting in Cerny, Fantastique pop-culture fair at Bois de Vincennes: 11 Île-de-France highlights for Pentecost 2026.

Pentecost long weekend means Île-de-France goes wide: 30,000 electronic-music fans on the shores of Torcy, Michelin-starred food under the Grand Palais nave, historic aircraft meeting in Cerny, plant design in the Bois de Boulogne and digital arts down to the Murs à Pêches in Montreuil. Our pick this week: Le Temps des Hélices at Cerny-La Ferté-Alais aerodrome, one of Europe's finest vintage-aircraft gatherings, which has marked Pentecost for decades with a very particular spirit.

Marvellous Island in Torcy: big-format electronic music by the lake (Seine-et-Marne)

On May 23 and 24, Marvellous Island returns for two days of electronic music on the beach of the Vaires-Torcy recreation island. Born in 2013 on the Île du Chalet de la Porte Jaune in Paris, the festival found its definitive home on the shores of this lake east of Paris in 2015. Five stages, over 30,000 festival-goers, programming spanning house, techno and bass music with international headliners and emerging talents. Green setting, urban-beach vibe, easy RER A access: one of the rare large electronic formats in the region to work in genuine open nature.

Le Temps des Hélices in Cerny: the great vintage-aircraft meeting (Essonne)

On May 23 and 24 at the Cerny-La Ferté-Alais aerodrome (91590), Le Temps des Hélices holds its traditional Pentecost edition. It is one of Europe's most important historic air shows: World War II warbirds, 1930s biplanes, Patrouille de France acrobatic displays, static aircraft exhibitions, vintage motorcycle and car parades. Aviation enthusiasts come from all over France for this meeting that blends flight and historical reenactment. Recommended for anyone who loves seeing machines fly up close.

Taste of Paris: haute cuisine under the Grand Palais nave

From May 21 to 24, Taste of Paris takes over the monumental nave of the Grand Palais for four days of culinary celebration. Nearly fifty chefs — Michelin-starred names, emerging talents and renowned pastry chefs — set up pop-up restaurants under the glass roof at 3 avenue du Général Eisenhower. Exclusive tastings, cooking demonstrations, masterclasses, a bakery-pastry area and a champagne bar: the great Parisian celebration of fine dining, in an accessible format (the tasting passport stays far more affordable than a meal in the same establishments). Ideal for sampling several cuisines in one visit.

Salon Fantastique at Bois de Vincennes: pop culture and the imagination

From May 23 to 25 at the Parc Floral de Paris, the Salon Fantastique gathers over 400 exhibitors across 10,000 m² around the cultures of the imagination. Fantasy, fairy tale, horror, science fiction, plus cosplay, board games, illustration, specialist bookshops and author stands: one of the largest Parisian events of its kind, run jointly with Japan Party since 2023. Talks, screenings, interactive activities and a major guest stage: a dense, demanding format that appeals to families and hardcore fans alike.

Jardins, Jardin at Bois de Boulogne: plant design and landscape art

From May 20 to 24, Jardins, Jardin takes over Villa Windsor in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. Landscape architects, nurseries, horticulturists and designers create spectacular ephemeral gardens around the year's theme. Launched in 2004 by four landscape architects, this gathering has become a benchmark of European urban landscape design. Talks, planting workshops, sale of rare plants, inspiration trails for balconies and terraces: programming aimed at enthusiasts and at Parisians wanting to green up a window ledge.

Festiv'Impro in Versailles: theatrical improvisation from around the world (Yvelines)

From May 21 to 23 in Versailles, Plaisir and Villepreux, Festiv'Impro has been bringing improvisation troupes from Quebec, Morocco, Switzerland and France together for explosive matches since 2003. The festival is known for the quality of its programming and the energy of its evenings: laughter, surprise, audience voting for your favourite team. A format accessible to newcomers but also a draw for seasoned fans. Three days to discover an international scene rarely gathered around Paris.

Les Premiers Romantiques et la Nature at Malmaison (Hauts-de-Seine)

From May 22 to 25 at the Château de Malmaison in Rueil-Malmaison, Les Premiers Romantiques et la Nature (formerly Festival de Pentecôte) explores the relationship between humans and nature through French and German Romantic music. Seven concerts, study days, period instruments, in an exceptional Napoleonic setting. An intimate, scholarly format that remains accessible to anyone who enjoys Schubert, Mendelssohn or historically informed ensembles. Ideal for a quiet Pentecost afternoon away from the Parisian bustle.

Aubercail in Aubervilliers: committed francophone song (Seine-Saint-Denis)

From May 20 to 23, Aubercail holds its new edition at the Embarcadère in Aubervilliers. Dedicated to spoken word and world music, this popular and engaged festival brings together artists from French chanson, world music, slam and folk around humanist values and an attachment to the power of words. The May 22 and 23 evenings close the week beautifully. Demanding programming, fraternal atmosphere, affordable pricing: a format you rarely find elsewhere in the Paris region.

FusionFest in Massy: the culture of new generations (Essonne)

On May 23 and 24 at Parc Georges-Brassens in Massy, FusionFest blends electronic music, urban rap, content creators, extreme sports and gaming in one weekend. Over 20,000 festival-goers are expected for this multidisciplinary format that reflects a new way of experiencing culture. Hybrid setup, immersive scenography, unapologetic social-media dimension: one of the rare Île-de-France festivals to talk directly to the generation born with TikTok and Twitch, without condescension.

Sous les Pêchers, la Plage in Montreuil: the green theatre of the Murs à Pêches (Seine-Saint-Denis)

On May 23 and 24, Sous les Pêchers, la Plage takes over the Théâtre de Verdure of the Murs à Pêches in Montreuil, a unique site of preserved former market gardens in the heart of the suburbs. La Girandole offers an eclectic weekend: concerts, theatre, circus, dance and performances in a family-friendly, free atmosphere. One of the most singular venues in the 93 department, little known outside the neighbourhood but treasured by lovers of live arts. Free or pay-what-you-can.

Scènes en Seine in Sartrouville: a car-free Sunday on the riverbanks (Yvelines)

On Sunday May 24, the Seine quays and the Parc du Dispensaire in Sartrouville turn into a vast open-air stage for Scènes en Seine. Concerts, dance, magic, participatory shows and activities for all ages follow in a bucolic riverside setting, with cars banished for the day. One of those well-thought-out municipal events that make Pentecost Sundays in the suburbs so worthwhile: no big-name acts, but a real quality of atmosphere, and free entry.

Also worth a look this weekend in Île-de-France

  • At the Caillebotte Festival in Yerres, the spring season dedicated to Impressionist art is in full swing: temporary exhibitions, open-air painting workshops and guided tours in the property that inspired Gustave Caillebotte (Essonne).
  • On Saturday May 23, the Essonne Night of Museums opens free late-night access to the Cyclop in Milly-la-Forêt, the Musée Palaisien du Hurepoix and the Mus'X at École Polytechnique.
