The Cap Corse Autumn Regatta

The Club Nautique de Macinaggio, founded in 1970 and affiliated with the French Sailing Federation, hosts A Sfida Capicursina every October on the village beach. As a certified French Sailing School, the club operates from June to September, offering training courses and private lessons with a fleet that includes Optimists, catamarans, dinghies, windsurfers, sea kayaks, and paddleboards. During the spring and autumn, the club provides supervised sessions for local schoolchildren from Capo Bianco, funded by the Communauté de communes du Cap Corse. They also organize two other keelboat regattas: the Petite Giraglia in April and the Corsica Med, which runs between Marseille and Macinaggio.

Multiple disciplines in one weekend

A Sfida brings together windsurfing, windfoiling, wingfoiling, and keelboat racing on the same waters. It is part of the regional calendar for speed and long-distance windsurfing and kitesurfing events, as well as keelboat races. The organizers aim to host a nautical gathering in October, outside the peak tourist season, to attract sailors from the Tuscan islands. "Our waters in Macinaghju offer ideal wind conditions for all types of sailing, whether it's light sailing or keelboats," says Isabelle Murzilli, the club's president.

Inclusive sailing, schools, and the Marine Park

In partnership with the association Mare Inseme, an adapted boat offers introductory sailing experiences to people with disabilities just off the port. The UNSS is also a partner, with student athletes from across Corsica competing in raids. The Cap Corse and Agriate Marine Natural Park, the French Office for Biodiversity, and the SNSM all host information stands. The event is supported by the commune of Rogliano, the Collectivité de Corse, and the intercommunal tourist office of Cap Corse.
