Art'Air Festival: The Alliance of Hiking and Live Performance

Since 2011, the Art'Air Festival has established itself as an unmissable summer event in the Puy-de-Dôme. Supported by the association Terre ou Art, this unique festival invites participants to discover the landscapes of the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park through an experience combining walking, culture, and gastronomy. The event takes place every year in July, starting from the village of Vernet-la-Varenne, in the commune of Vernet-Chaméane.

An Original Concept: Hike and Discover

The heart of the festival is a curious and gourmet hike of about 20 kilometers, punctuated by artistic stops and tastings of local products. The route, with an elevation gain of about 580 meters, crosses varied landscapes: forests, meadows, charming villages, and remarkable viewpoints over the Auvergne mountains. Along the way, hikers are surprised by artistic interventions: street performances, musical performances, storytelling, and ephemeral installations.

A Rich and Eclectic Program

Beyond the hike, the Art'Air Festival offers a festival village with numerous activities:

• Live performances: one-man shows, street theater, artistic performances along the hiking route
• Escape game: an immersive free investigation through the festival village, accessible to families
• Free concert evening: brass bands, world music, and festive groups liven up the end of the day, with free access
• Gourmet area: tastings of Auvergne local products and rustic meals included in the hiking route

A Festival Rooted in its Territory

The Art'Air Festival showcases the natural and heritage riches of Livradois-Forez. Local stakeholders—local producers, artisans, associations—actively participate in the event, making the festival a true moment of sharing and discovery of Auvergne's heritage. The 2026 edition will celebrate the festival's 15th anniversary, confirming its role as a major cultural and sporting event in the south of Puy-de-Dôme.
