A festival rooted in industrial history

The Assemblée des Forges draws its name from the industrial past of Luçay-le-Mâle, a commune in the Indre department that once housed forges and an industrial dairy, testifying to the iron and agricultural activity of the Berry region. Organized by the Comité des Forges de Luçay-le-Mâle, a cultural and leisure association, this festival perpetuates the memory of this heritage while creating a moment of popular gathering on the first Sunday of May.

Flea market, carnival, and shows

The day begins at 7 am with the setup of a large flea market, free for exhibitors (by reservation), which attracts bargain hunters from all over the region. In the late morning, it's time for the carnival and live performances: costumed parades, street entertainment, music, and shows for all ages liven up the commune until the late afternoon. Past editions have hosted companies like Les Pellevoi'zicos or Cap Show Brésil, bringing color, rhythm, and good cheer.

The Forges Tavern and the Berry way of life

The central point of the festival, the taverne des Forges, offers meals and drinks in a friendly and rustic atmosphere. Visitors can eat on-site with local specialties while enjoying the entertainment. The funfair and children's games complete the offerings of this family day. The spirit of the Assemblée des Forges relies on the volunteer work and commitment of the inhabitants of Luçay-le-Mâle, who prepare the event months in advance.
