Astropolis l'Hiver is the winter version of the famous Astropolis festival, the oldest electronic music festival in France. Every year in February, the festival returns to raise the temperature in Brest for four days of sonic effervescence, transforming the commercial port and the city's venues into a true electronic inferno.
The strength of Astropolis l'Hiver lies in its ability to create collisions between the essential pillars of the international electronic scene and this new wave of artists who are shaking up the codes. The program explores all currents of electro: techno, house, ambient, bass music, experimental, offering a rich and diverse sound palette that delights electronic music lovers.
The festival takes over several emblematic venues in the city: La Carène, a reference contemporary music venue and a pillar of the Brest scene, Les Ateliers des Capucins, a former industrial building of the French Navy converted into a monumental cultural space, La Suite, a must-visit club in Brest's nightlife, Le Fourneau, a national street arts center, and the Patinoire de Brest, transformed for the occasion into an ephemeral dance floor. This multiplicity of venues creates an immersive urban experience and allows you to discover Brest from a resolutely different angle.
While most electronic music festivals focus on the summer period, Astropolis l'Hiver offers a welcome alternative in the heart of the Breton winter. The festival contributes to Brest's cultural animation during the cold season and offers electro lovers a quality off-season event in an intimate and warm atmosphere. The winter edition was born from the founders' desire to keep electronic music alive all year round and to extend the Astropolis spirit beyond the summer season.
Astropolis l'Hiver cultivates a spirit of community and sharing that has been the festival's hallmark since its origins. The evenings foster encounters between artists and the public, between informed amateurs and curious novices. The festival also offers opportunities for discussion, professional meetings, and moments of conviviality that make each edition much more than just a succession of concerts.
