Pets are not allowed (except for guide dogs). Professional cameras, glass bottles, and dangerous objects are prohibited within the concert area.
Au Fil du Son: The Musical Adventure of Civray
Born in 2004 from the passion of two childhood friends, Damien Guitard and Grégoire Renaudon, the Au Fil du Son festival has grown to the rhythm of the Charente. What was initially just a small associative event supported by La Ch'mise Verte has become, in two decades, one of the largest contemporary music festivals in Vienne and all of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Today, over 40,000 festival-goers gather every last weekend of July in the streets of Civray to experience three days of music, encounters, and sharing.
A Bucolic Setting in the Heart of the City
The festival takes place in the center of Civray, between Place du Maréchal Leclerc and the shaded banks of the Charente. This rural setting gives the event a unique atmosphere, far from the anonymity of large gatherings. The stages are set up in a green setting, offering a rare proximity between artists and the public. Free camping, wine bars, local food stalls, and dry toilets complete a setup designed for everyone's comfort.
A Resolutely Eclectic Program
The strength of Au Fil du Son lies in the diversity of its programming. From rock to electro, from hip-hop to reggae, from jazz to French chanson, each edition boldly mixes genres. Over the years, the festival has hosted top-tier artists: SCH, Rilès, Ofenbach, Superbus, Caravan Palace, Worakls Orchestra, Dub Inc, L'Entourloop, Synapson, Taïro, Zaho de Sagazan, Ibrahim Maalouf, and Saïan Supa Celebration. The opening night "Au Fil du Son Déraille" has become a cult event: over fifteen surprise artists perform for six hours in an unclassifiable show.
A Free and Family-Friendly Off Festival
Every afternoon, the festival off offers free concerts, theater performances, giant games, inflatable structures, and sports tournaments. This family-friendly program, open to all, embodies the philosophy of access to culture for all, defended by the organizers since the beginning. Children under 12 benefit from a 50% reduced rate, and noise-canceling headphones are strongly recommended.
An Eco-Responsible Commitment
Au Fil du Son is committed to concrete environmental action: dry toilets, reusable cups, partnerships with local producers, and public awareness. The festival is also accessible to people with disabilities, with reserved parking, an elevated platform in front of the stages, and adapted sanitary facilities. Supported by hundreds of volunteers, the event radiates far beyond the departmental borders and constitutes a major economic and cultural driver for the Civray region.
