The great open-air music festival of Cantal
Aurillac en Scène is the unmissable open-air music festival in Cantal. Every year in June, the Prisme parking lot transforms into a huge 4,000-seat open-air stage per evening, hosting nationally renowned artists in a pop, rock, variety, and contemporary music program. The festival also promotes local talent through the Cantal en Scène Showcases, offering emerging Cantal artists the opportunity to perform on the main stage as an opening act.
Created in 2019 by SPL Aurillac Développement, the Aurillac en Scène festival has established itself in just a few editions as the major musical event in the Cantal department. Located in the Prisme parking lot, Place du 8 Mai 1945 in Aurillac, this open-air festival transforms the site each year into a true concert arena capable of hosting up to 4,000 spectators per evening.
The strength of Aurillac en Scène lies in its accessible and ambitious musical program, mixing pop, rock, French variety, soul, electro, and hip-hop. The festival relies on nationally and internationally renowned headliners to attract a broad, intergenerational audience. Since its creation, the festival has hosted major artists such as Zazie, BigFlo & Oli, Angèle, M (Matthieu Chedid), Shaka Ponk, Louise Attaque, Julien Doré, Pascal Obispo, Barbara Pravi, and Matt Pokora and Mika.
The program is designed to appeal to all generations: young and old, families and groups of friends gather for two evenings of concerts under the stars, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
In partnership with the Cantal Departmental Council and its contemporary music network, the festival has set up the Cantal en Scène Showcases. This initiative offers two emerging Cantal artists the unique opportunity to benefit from an artistic residency before performing on the main stage as an opening act for the evening, in front of thousands of spectators. An initiative that reflects the festival's commitment to discovering and promoting local talent.
Beyond the concerts, Aurillac en Scène offers a true festive village with food trucks, bars, musical entertainment provided by a DJ between sets, a cashless system, an official shop, and dedicated reception services. The warm atmosphere and the human scale of the festival make it a popular event for both locals and visitors from across the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region and beyond.
Organized by SPL Aurillac Développement, the management company for the Convention Center and the Prisme, the festival benefits from the support of local authorities and is part of a cultural and tourism development dynamic for the Aurillac area. After a successful first edition in 2019, interrupted by the health crisis, the festival returned strongly in 2023 and has continued to grow, establishing itself as a flagship event in the Cantal summer calendar.
The 5th edition of the Aurillac en Scène festival will take place on June 5 and 6, 2026, in the Prisme parking lot. The program includes Matt Pokora, Mika, Claudio Capéo, Imany, Luiza, and Ebony, as well as the Cantal en Scène Showcases for emerging Cantal artists.
The Aurillac en Scène festival returns for its 5th edition on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the Prisme parking lot in Aurillac. An eclectic and festive program awaits spectators for two evenings of open-air concerts.
On Friday, June 5, Ebony, a promising young voice from Guadeloupe, will open the festivities, followed by Claudio Capéo, the accordionist-singer revealed by The Voice, and Matt Pokora, a key figure in French pop with over 15 NRJ Music Awards to his name.
On Saturday, June 6, Luiza, a Franco-Brazilian singer with jazz and world music influences, will be followed by Imany, a major voice in French soul-folk, and Mika, an international pop superstar, who will close the festival in style.
As every year, the Cantal en Scène Showcases, in partnership with the Cantal Departmental Council, will offer two emerging Cantal artists the opportunity to perform on the main stage as opening acts for the evening, after a dedicated artistic residency.
