Ay-Roop, contemporary circus in Rennes

Ay-Roop, a Circus Territory Stage, deploys a unique and comprehensive project, rooted in the territory, working for the development of circus and its sharing with the greatest number, from local to international. Created in 2005, the Ay-Roop association's mission is to support national or international artists and companies in the production, diffusion, and communication of their shows.

An innovative festival

Ay-Roop electrifies Rennes and its metropolis to the rhythm of contemporary circus, blending acrobatics, dance, theater, magic, and visual arts. For ten days, innovative shows break away from traditional codes to offer the public a renewed and expanded definition of the term "circus".

Original creations

The creations presented during the festival, conceived and performed together, mix objects, dance, video, music, and acrobatics. Each edition is an opportunity to discover new artistic forms that push the boundaries of contemporary circus.

A unifying event

With 7,000 to 9,000 spectators at each edition, Ay-Roop has established itself as a major event for contemporary circus in Brittany. The festival is aimed at all audiences and contributes to the cultural influence of Rennes Métropole.
