Winter trail running in the Meuse and Semoy valleys
The Aymon Trail is a trail running event organized annually in February in Bogny-sur-Meuse by the K-Raid Ardennes association. Since 2015, this sporting event has offered three main races (42 km marathon, 33 km, and 18 km) through the spectacular winter landscapes of the Meuse and Semoy valleys. With over 1,600 classified runners and technically demanding courses with significant elevation gain, the Aymon Trail has become a must-attend event for trail running in the Grand Est region.
Every February, the Aymon Trail takes over 1,600 runners onto the steep trails of the Meuse and Semoy valleys, starting and finishing in Bogny-sur-Meuse. Created in 2015 by the K-Raid Ardennes association, this winter trail takes place in the legendary land of the 4 Sons of Aymon, offering spectacular panoramas of the river's meanders, wooded ridges, and Ardennes schist rocks.
The Aymon Trail offers three distances suitable for different skill levels. The 42 km Trail Marathon with 2,024 meters of positive elevation gain is the main event, a technical and physical challenge through the Ardennes ridges and valleys. The 33 km (1,600 m D+) offers an equally spectacular but slightly shorter course. The 18 km (800 m D+) allows less experienced trail runners to discover the Ardennes landscapes in an accessible format.
Beyond the three timed races on Sunday, the Aymon Trail organizes a program dedicated to inclusion and solidarity on Saturday. The Trail Kids allow children to try trail running on courses of 1.2 km and 2.4 km. Joëlette animations and solidarity duos for kids raise awareness about disabilities and enable everyone to participate in the adventure. A night hike on Saturday evening completes the program for this sporting weekend.
Running the Aymon Trail in February means discovering the Ardennes in the heart of winter, when the forests are bare and the panoramas reveal themselves in all their splendor. The courses offer exceptional viewpoints from the natural belvederes overlooking the Meuse and Semoy rivers, amidst schist cliffs, beech forests, and Ardennes villages nestled in the valleys. The technical nature of the trails and the winter conditions add a dimension of adventure that has earned this event its reputation among trail runners from all over France and Belgium.
12th edition of the Aymon Trail scheduled for February 14 and 15, 2026, in Bogny-sur-Meuse. Three races (42 km, 33 km, 18 km) in the Meuse and Semoy valleys, Trail Kids on Saturday, and over 2,000 participants expected.
