Baillarock Festival: The Capital of Extreme Music in Vienne

Born from the passion of a group of friends for independent music, the Baillarock Festival was created in 2022 under the impetus of the association United We Fest, founded in September 2020 in Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux. Faced with the lack of representation of punk-rock, hardcore, and metal scenes in the Vienne department, these enthusiasts decided to create their own event: the first festival in Poitou entirely dedicated to extreme music. From its very first edition, organized on May 14, 2022, at the Espace Mérovée, Baillarock has managed to unite a loyal and enthusiastic audience.

An International-Scale Program

The Baillarock Festival stands out with lineups that rival those of the biggest European festivals of its kind. Each edition brings together bands accustomed to the stages of Hellfest, Motocultor Fest, Resurrection Fest, and Summer Breeze. Over the years, the festival has hosted iconic groups such as Burning Heads, Birds In Row, Rise of the Northstar, Crisix, Satanic Surfers, No Turning Back, Novelists, Dirty Fonzy, Tagada Jones, and Akiavel. The programming skillfully blends melodic punk-rock, old-school hardcore, technical metalcore, and brutal deathcore, offering a complete panorama of contemporary heavy music.

A Human-Sized Festival in the Heart of Poitou

With around 1,200 festival-goers per edition, Baillarock cultivates a family-friendly and warm atmosphere that makes it unique. The Espace Mérovée, located on Route du Stade in Saint-Georges-lès-Baillargeaux, offers an ideal setting for this type of open-air event: vast, accessible, and perfectly suited for welcoming the public. Children under 16 benefit from free entry, demonstrating the organizers' desire to make culture accessible to as many people as possible. On-site catering, a bar, and merchandising complete the festival experience.

The United We Fest Spirit

The association United We Fest, governed by the 1901 law, carries much more than just a festival. It works throughout the year to promote punk, hardcore, and metal scenes at the departmental and regional level. Its associative and charitable commitment, coupled with a strong community spirit, makes Baillarock an event that goes beyond music to become a true territorial project. Expanding from one to two days in 2023, the festival continues to grow and assert its identity, establishing itself durably in the cultural landscape of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
