A wine-tasting hike in the heart of the Côtes de Meuse

The Balade Vigneronne des Côtes de Meuse is a unique event that combines hiking, discovery of the wine region, and heritage. Organized by the Organisme de Défense et de Gestion de l'IGP Côtes de Meuse, this walk invites wine and nature lovers to explore the Meuse hillsides in an exceptional landscape setting, between plains and hills.

A 6.5 km route between vineyards and heritage

The approximately 6.5-kilometer loop starts from Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel and crosses the characteristic landscapes of the Côtes de Meuse. Hikers follow vineyard paths and discover the medieval village of Hattonchâtel, listed among the favorite villages of the French, with its rich architectural heritage and its castle overlooking the Woëvre plain.

Five tasting stops

The route is punctuated by five tasting stops where Côtes de Meuse winemakers showcase their IGP wines in a rural setting. Each stop is an opportunity to learn more about the grape varieties, terroirs, and the know-how of the Meuse winemakers. The tastings are accompanied by activities focused on the landscape and heritage of the Côtes de Meuse.

A little-known vineyard to discover

The Côtes de Meuse is one of the oldest vineyards in Lorraine, benefiting from the Protected Geographical Indication (IGP). Winemakers produce white, rosé, and red wines from grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Auxerrois, and Chardonnay. The Balade Vigneronne is the ideal opportunity to discover these still confidential wines in their region of origin.

A moment of conviviality

Upon arrival, participants are welcomed at the multi-purpose hall in Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel for a tasting of traditional method sparkling wine, accompanied by appetizers. It's a moment of sharing and conviviality that concludes this beautiful gourmet walk in the heart of the Meuse terroir.
