About Beer Museum Festival

The Beer Museum Festival is a festive and cultural event organized annually in June at the Beer Museum of Stenay, in the north of the Meuse region. The museum opens its doors for free for a day of guided tours, tastings, family activities, cooperage demonstrations, giant games, and discovery of brewing heritage. The festival takes place in the museum, its garden, and its tavern, in a friendly atmosphere.

The Stenay Beer Museum in Celebration

Each year, the Stenay Beer Museum opens its doors wide for an exceptional day dedicated to brewing culture and conviviality. The Stenay Beer Museum Festival invites visitors of all ages to delve into the fascinating world of beer making, within a remarkable heritage setting.

A Unique Museum in Europe

Housed in a classified former malthouse, the Stenay Beer Museum is one of the most important in Europe dedicated to brewing. Inaugurated on April 26, 1986, at the initiative of the Stenay Archaeological Group, the museum today preserves over 55,000 objects that trace the history of beer and brewing from Antiquity to the present day.

A Rich and Varied Program

Each year, the festival offers numerous activities for all audiences:

  • Guided museum tours: commented tours through the permanent collections and the temporary exhibition.
  • Heritage walks: discovery of Stenay's heritage guided by local history enthusiasts.
  • Demonstrations and workshops: cooperage, malt, enamel plates, workshops for children and adults.
  • Beer tastings: discovery of craft and local beers at the museum's tavern.
  • Open-air concerts: varied musical program (pop-rock, folk, jazz) in the museum garden.
  • Readings and theatrical performances: interventions by local companies around brewing culture.
  • Children's activities: games, fun stands, and family activities.

A Free and Family-Friendly Event

Admission to the museum is free during the festival, making the event accessible to everyone. The museum's garden and tavern welcome visitors in a green and relaxed setting, ideal for an outing with family or friends.

Stenay, Brewing Town of the Meuse

Stenay is a small town in the north of the Meuse, with a rich military and brewing past. The Citadel, the banks of the Meuse, and the town's architectural heritage offer a pleasant setting for visiting the museum and discovering the area.
