Stones and Stages
Under the slogan “Stones and Stages”, Belcastel en Scène has been combining the exceptional architectural heritage of Belcastel with live performance since 2020. This small medieval village of 200 souls, nestled above the Aveyron river and dominated by its 11th-century castle restored by architect Fernand Pouillon, offers a unique stone setting for open-air theatre.
Professional and Accessible Theatre
Each year, the festival programs five shows by professional companies, mixing comedy, drama, adapted classic plays, and contemporary creations. The 2025 edition featured “Dans la Peau de Cyrano” (Compagnie Qui va piano), “Le Comte de Monte Cristo” (Compagnie Les Âmes libres), “Les Hommes du Président”, “La Vraie Vie des Pirates” (Compagnie AFAG), and “Le Secret des Arbres” (Compagnie Ici Théâtre).
A Friendly and Popular Event
Belcastel en Scène is distinguished by its friendliness and popular spirit. The shows are performed on the place Fernand Pouillon, in the open air (relocated to the Salle des Fêtes de Mayran in case of bad weather). Between performances, on-site catering allows the enjoyment to continue. Prices remain accessible: €13 full price, €8 reduced price (under 18s, students, job seekers), 5-show pass for €50.
A Festival Driven by Local Commitment
The festival is organized by the Belcastel Accueil Information association and artistically directed by Didier Landès. It relies on the commitment of many volunteers and benefits from the support of the Department of Aveyron and the Occitanie Region. Its mission: to make culture accessible and alive in the heart of the Aveyron heritage.
