The major blues gathering in Essonne
Created in 1999, the Blues à Sénart Festival is one of the oldest blues events in Île-de-France. Organized in several towns in the Sénart-Essonne agglomeration, it offers concerts in local venues every spring before a grand final concert at the Silo de Tigery. A traveling format that combines conviviality and quality programming.
Born in 1999 on the initiative of the Sénart agglomeration union, the Blues à Sénart Festival is one of the oldest and most popular musical events in Essonne. Since its creation, this festival exclusively dedicated to blues has retained a passionate audience while opening up to new audiences thanks to an accessible pricing policy and a traveling program that brings music closer to the residents.
The philosophy of Blues à Sénart is based on a simple but effective idea: bring the music to the people, rather than the other way around. The festival takes place over several days in various towns in the agglomeration, with intimate concerts in local venues, acoustic evenings in community spaces, and a grand final concert at the Silo de Tigery. This emblematic cultural facility located on Route de Lieusaint in Tigery is the festival's main stage, with a capacity to host several hundred spectators in excellent acoustic conditions.
Blues à Sénart is not limited to a single style of blues. The programmers strive to present the richness and diversity of this foundational music: electric blues from the Delta, Chicago blues, acoustic blues, soul blues, rhythm and blues... Each edition explores a different facet of this infinite musical universe, allowing the public to travel from the bayous of Louisiana to the smoky clubs of Chicago without leaving Essonne. Film screenings about the blues often complement the musical program.
Over the years, the Blues à Sénart Festival has hosted leading artists from the French and international blues scene. Authentic American bluesmen mingle with the best representatives of the European blues scene, offering the Essonne audience a quality program comparable to the major blues festivals in France. The 2019 edition notably hosted the 10th festival at the Silo with Elise & The Sugar Sweets and the duo Mike Greene / Youssef Remadna in a remarkable concert.
Blues à Sénart is more than just a music festival: it is a unifying event for the towns of the Grand Paris Sud agglomeration. By involving different municipalities and offering concerts in various spaces, the festival contributes to the cultural animation of an entire territory and the promotion of its facilities. The Silo de Tigery, the festival's main stage, has become synonymous with quality blues in Île-de-France over the years.
The festival is organized with the support of Grand Paris Sud and partner municipalities. For any information on the program and ticketing, you can contact the organization at 06 87 39 06 48 or visit the website www.bluesasenart.com.
The 2026 Blues à Sénart Festival again offers its traveling format through the towns of the Grand Paris Sud agglomeration, with acoustic evenings, blues film screenings, and a final electric concert at the Silo de Tigery.
For its new edition, Blues à Sénart maintains its proven format that has made the festival successful since 1999. The traveling concerts in the partner towns' venues offer an intimate experience, before the grand finale at the Silo de Tigery where electric blues and Delta rhythms make the walls of the emblematic venue vibrate. Acoustic evenings, blues film screenings, and electric concerts make up the program for this 2026 edition.
