About Gastronomy Fair

Every autumn, Ainterexpo hosts the Bourg-en-Bresse Gastronomy Fair, a major event drawing more than 16,000 visitors over five days. With 140 exhibitors, producers and artisan food-makers, this event is an institution in the Ain department. The fair showcases the local Bresse terroir through six themed restaurants, the Saveurs de l'Ain area, the Fest'in Bières craft beer festival and the Passione Italiana village. Culinary workshops, tastings and master classes enliven these convivial days, perfect for preparing for the festive season with the family.

A Benchmark Gastronomy Fair in the Ain

For over thirty years, the Bourg-en-Bresse Gastronomy Fair has stood as the flagship food event in the Ain department. Held every November at Ainterexpo, the Bourg-en-Bresse exhibition centre, this fair brings together more than 16,000 visitors who come to discover, taste and buy the finest regional produce. With close to 140 exhibitors — producers, restaurateurs, winemakers, cheese-makers, charcutiers, brewers and artisan food-makers — the fair offers a comprehensive showcase of regional, national and international flavours.

Saveurs de l'Ain and Bresse Terroir

The heart of the fair beats to the rhythm of the Saveurs de l'Ain area, a village of around forty local producers showcasing the riches of the Bresse and Bugey terroir. Bresse poultry AOP, Revermont cheeses, Comté, Bugey wines, Revermont honey and artisan charcuterie are just some of the taste treasures to discover. Five days of culinary events, demonstrations and tastings allow visitors to meet producers directly and learn the secrets behind these exceptional products.

Fest'in Bières and Passione Italiana Village

The Fest'in Bières, an area dedicated to craft brewers, invites hop enthusiasts to discover a selection of local and regional beers in a convivial atmosphere. This festival within the festival runs from Friday to Sunday with guided tastings and meet-the-brewer sessions. The Passione Italiana village transports visitors to Italy, with its transalpine products, folklore and Mediterranean specialities, creating a gourmet bridge between Bresse and the Italian peninsula.

Themed Restaurants and Entertainment

Six themed restaurants, open until 11pm, extend the culinary experience into the evening with entertainment included. The programme also features culinary workshops led by chefs, master classes, cooking battles, a chocolate competition by CECOF apprentices, and a Bresse AOP tart competition. The Friday late-night opening, extended until 10pm, kicks off the fair in a festive guinguette atmosphere with Montmartre-style terraces.

A Family-Friendly and Accessible Event

The Gastronomy Fair is a thoroughly family-friendly event. Entry is free for under-17s accompanied by an adult, and admission is free every evening from 7pm. With over 4,000 regional and international products to discover, activities for all ages and free parking with over 2,000 spaces, the fair is the perfect occasion to prepare for the festive season with the family while supporting local producers and artisan food-makers.

35th Anniversary of the Gastronomy Fair - 2026 Edition

The Bourg-en-Bresse Gastronomy Fair celebrates its 35th anniversary from Saturday, November 7 to Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at Ainterexpo, the Ain exhibition center. For this anniversary edition, the fair brings together nearly 140 exhibitors — producers, restaurateurs, and taste artisans — who come to present the best of French, Italian, and Ain region gastronomy.

The program for these five days includes: the traditional six thematic restaurants open in the evening until 11 p.m. (animations included), the Saveurs de l'Ain area and its village of about forty local producers, the Fest'in Bières dedicated to craft brewers, and the Passione Italiana village which highlights transalpine gastronomy and folklore. Throughout the fair, visitors can enjoy five days of culinary entertainment, demonstrations, and tastings in the Saveurs de l'Ain area.

The 2026 edition also offers a chocolate competition organized by CECOF apprentices and numerous festive activities.
