The meeting place for lovers of words and French song
The Charabia Festival is a festival dedicated to French song and poetry in all its forms. Every year in November, for a week, Reims vibrates to the rhythm of concerts, literary encounters, giant dictations, and legendary blind tests. Driven by the artist Barcella and Ulysse Maison d'Artistes, this bright and popular festival brings together lovers of words and curious ears in the most beautiful venues in Reims.
Born from the determination of Reims artist Barcella and the City of Reims, the Charabia Festival has become in a few editions an unmissable event for French song and spoken arts. Every autumn, for an entire week, the festival takes over the most beautiful venues in the 'Cité des Sacres' (City of Spires) to celebrate the French language in all its richness and diversity.
The Charabia Festival offers a program mixing concerts by established artists and discoveries, literary encounters with renowned authors, comedy shows, and participatory events. Headliners such as Vincent Delerm, Jérémy Frerot, Kery James, Dominique A, La Grande Sophie, Pomme, and Bernard Werber have graced the festival stages, alongside emerging artists and promising writers.
The festival unfolds in several emblematic venues in Reims: La Cartonnerie (SMAC), the Grand Théâtre - Opéra de Reims, the Manège (Scène nationale), the Cirque de Reims, the Arena de Reims, the Floor, as well as the city's media libraries. This diversity of venues allows it to reach a large and varied audience, from song enthusiasts to families seeking new discoveries.
Beyond the concerts, the Charabia Festival cultivates a spirit of sharing through events that have become cult favorites: the Grande Dictée du Charabia (Great Charabia Dictation), the legendary blind test hosted by Olivier Bas, and intimate literary encounters. The festival is also a place of transmission where artists and the public meet in a warm and friendly atmosphere, true to the popular spirit that has driven the project since its inception.
The 10th edition of the Charabia Festival will be held at the end of November 2026 in Reims. The festival will celebrate a decade of French song and poetry in the City of Spires. Program to be announced.
