The grand historical reenactment and show fair in Margny-lès-Compiègne
Since its creation, Fous d'Histoire has established itself as the largest historical show fair in France. Every November, the event center Le Tigre in Margny-lès-Compiègne hosts a unique two-day event that brings together enthusiasts of historical reenactment, live shows, and period crafts.
The heart of the festival is its History Market, which brings together over 250 exhibitors from 24 nationalities. Craftsmen, blacksmiths, costume makers, armorers, illuminators, luthiers, and creators offer objects and skills covering all periods of history, from Prehistory to the Belle Époque, including Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Empire.
The festival brings together over 100 historical show companies, both professional and amateur, organized into several categories: music, dance, and song; theater and street performance; equestrian arts and animal shows; crafts and demonstrations; military arts; various activities; and animated historical sites.
Visitors can witness battle reenactments, equestrian jousting, blacksmithing demonstrations, falconry shows, and costumed parades. These immersive activities allow history to be relived in a lively and spectacular way.
Fous d'Histoire is an event accessible to all audiences, with activities specifically designed for children and families. Participatory workshops, introductions to period crafts, and historical games complete the program.
The 9th edition of Fous d'Histoire takes place on November 15-16, 2025, at Le Tigre in Margny-lès-Compiègne. The History Market brings together 250 exhibitors from 24 nationalities and over 100 historical show companies covering all eras, from Prehistory to the 20th century.
