The international performing arts festival in Reims
Reims Scènes d'Europe, which became FARaway - Festival des Arts à Reims in 2020, is an international performing arts festival open to contemporary artistic creation. Supported by seven cultural institutions in Reims, it offers an eleven-day program rich and eclectic in theater, dance, music, circus, performance, and young audiences. Even more international than its predecessor, FARaway explores artistic territories beyond Europe, offering a unique panorama of global live creation.
Reims Scènes d'Europe was a biennial performing arts festival that presented about fifty artistic proposals in the cultural venues of Reims. In 2020, the festival evolved to become FARaway - Festival des Arts à Reims, an even more international annual event that extends its gaze beyond the European continent to embrace artistic scenes from around the world.
FARaway is supported and conceived by seven cultural institutions in Reims that collectively program the festival:
Each edition of FARaway explores a different geographical and artistic territory. The 2024 edition (5th) focused on Mediterranean artists, while the 2025 edition (6th) highlighted Northern Europe. The festival offers about thirty shows and fifty performances over eleven days, mixing theater, dance, music, circus, performance, installations, young audiences, workshops, round tables, and exhibitions.
Scheduled every year in January-February, FARaway has become a major highlight of the Reims cultural season. The festival takes place in more than ten venues across the city and its region, offering spectators a dense and stimulating artistic discovery experience. The festival's commitment to cooperation, exchange between artists, and meeting audiences makes it a unique event in the cultural landscape of the Grand Est.
The 7th edition of FARaway will take place from January 27 to February 7, 2026, in Reims. The festival will offer eleven days of international performing arts in the city's cultural venues, supported by the seven partner cultural institutions.
The Festival des Arts à Reims returns for its 7th edition from January 27 to February 7, 2026. The opening is scheduled for January 27 at Le Manège, Scène nationale de Reims. The full program will be unveiled in autumn 2025.
