A benchmark gourmet fair in Indre
Since 1999, the Châteauroux Gastronomy and Wine Fair has established itself as the flagship gastronomic event in the Indre department. Organized annually in November at the Belle-Isle Exhibition Hall, this fair attracts thousands of visitors eager to discover, taste, and purchase the best local products. With over 130 exhibitors — winegrowers, local producers, cheesemakers, charcuterie makers, chocolatiers, and artisan food makers — the fair offers a comprehensive overview of regional and national flavors.
Wines and local products from Berry
The heart of the fair beats to the rhythm of tastings and encounters with producers. Over 40 winegrowers present their vintages, allowing visitors to discover appellations from Berry and beyond. Alongside wines, about sixty local producers and artisans offer cured meats, foie gras, cheeses including the famous Pouligny-Saint-Pierre AOP, chocolates, spices, seafood, and international specialties. Short supply chains and product quality are at the core of the fair's philosophy.
Competitions and culinary events
The fair offers a rich program of events. Professional competitions highlight Pouligny-Saint-Pierre cheese, croissants, baguettes, and almond galettes. Two amateur pastry competitions allow the public to participate: lemon tart on Saturday and potato galette on Sunday. Culinary demonstrations by chefs, discovery workshops, tea ceremonies, and children's workshops complete the program.
Prestigious guests
Each edition hosts a guest of honor from the world of gastronomy. In 2025, it was Mercotte, a famous culinary blogger and judge on the show Le Meilleur Pâtissier, who presided over the amateur lemon tart competition and participated in signing sessions. These prestigious endorsements enhance the fair's appeal and attract an ever-larger audience.
A solidarity and family event
The Gastronomy and Wine Fair is a resolutely family-friendly and solidarity-focused event. Charitable actions are carried out for associations like LADAPT and cancer research, with a solidarity catering service. The low entry fee (3 euros) makes the event accessible to all. It's the ideal meeting place to prepare for the holiday season while supporting local producers and artisan food makers from Berry.
