The La Châtre Christmas Market is a festive gathering created in 2022 by the municipality's desire to offer a friendly and unifying event for the holiday season. Organized in partnership with the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of the Indre, this market is held on Avenue George Sand and in the Pierre de Boisdeffre garden, in the heart of this charming town in southern Indre, famous for its literary heritage linked to the novelist George Sand.

Artisans, Producers, and Delicacies

The market brings together about twenty carefully selected exhibitors: local producers and artisan creators from Berry. Visitors can discover gourmet products from the Berry region — honey, chocolate, sweets, foie gras, wines — as well as original handcrafted creations: jewelry, Christmas decorations, candles, textiles, pottery, and art objects. It's the perfect opportunity to find unique gifts while supporting the local economy.

Musical Entertainment and Santa Claus

The La Châtre Christmas Market program features plenty of musical entertainment. The Municipal Band opens the festivities on Saturday morning with a Christmas concert, while the vocal ensemble Les Voix Là offers a festive repertoire in the afternoon. Santa's chalet welcomes children for magical encounters. The highlight of the weekend is the luminous parade on Saturday evening at 6 PM, transforming the streets of La Châtre into a magical spectacle. Food and drinks are available on site.
