The classical music festival at the foot of the Towers of La Rochelle
Since 2010, Classique au Port has combined classical music and architectural heritage. For one week at the end of July, the festival offers about fifteen free and paid concerts at the foot of the Towers and in the churches of La Rochelle.
Created in 2010, Classique au Port was born from the desire of music lovers to create a summer meeting between prestigious musicians and new audiences. Every end of July, the festival offers a program of classical music in the emblematic places of La Rochelle.
The festival presents about 13 concerts, only three of which are paid, making classical music accessible to all. The concerts take place at the foot of the Towers of La Rochelle, in the churches and temples of the city, thus taking music out of institutional settings.
Classique au Port hosts prestigious artists and young talents for a program centered mainly around piano and chamber music. The festival celebrates great classical composers in an exceptional setting.
