Since 2022, the Town of Collioure has organised a Brass Band Festival every September, bringing the streets, the port, and the Faubourg of the «City of Painters» to life. This popular musical event brings together brass bands and 'bandas' from all over the south of France for a weekend of conviviality and celebration.
The festival welcomes ensembles with varied styles: brass bands, Catalan 'charangas', festive brass bands, and traditional 'bandas'. Among the groups that have participated: Boom Boom Brass Band (Toulouse), Taraf Goulamas (Montpellier), Canal Combo (Perpignan), Les Bizzar's (local Collioure brass band), Les Astious (Gascogne), and Ho Peta Street Band (Catalan 'charanga').
On Saturday and Sunday, the brass bands parade through the streets at 11:30 AM and in the late afternoon, with a closing concert on Sunday afternoon in Place du 18 Juin. The event is experienced in French and Catalan, reflecting Collioure's bilingual identity. All activities are free and open to everyone.
Each edition offers a varied selection of brass bands and 'bandas', mixing established ensembles and emerging talents. The musical parades and concerts are designed to satisfy all audiences and all generations, from the youngest to the most experienced.
Nestled between sea and mountains on the Côte Vermeille, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department (66), Collioure enjoys an exceptional setting. The «City of Painters», dear to Matisse and Derain, is renowned for its royal castle, its emblematic bell tower, its colourful streets, and its Catalan port. Visitors can take advantage of their stay to discover the specialities of Roussillon: Collioure anchovies, natural sweet wines (Banyuls, Collioure), Catalan tapas, and Mediterranean cuisine.
The organising team makes it a point of honour to make the event accessible to the widest possible audience. Free and open to all, the festival takes place outdoors in the city centre, with activities suitable for families.
The 2026 edition of the Collioure Fanfare Festival was carefully prepared to offer a memorable experience to participants. On the program: exceptional performances, privileged encounters with artists, and numerous activities suitable for all ages.
