Grand popular and musical celebration in the streets of Collioure
Created in 2022 by the City of Collioure, the Fanfare Festival is a grand popular, friendly, and family celebration that puts music at the heart of shared moments in the streets, on the port, and in the Faubourg district. For a weekend in September, fanfares and bandas from all over the South of France take over the streets of Collioure for musical parades, concerts, and festive moments. The event is free, in French and Catalan, and is a must-attend event for the start of the season in Collioure.
Since 2022, the City of Collioure has organized a Fanfare Festival every September that enlivens the streets, the port, and the Faubourg of the "Painter's City." This popular musical event brings together fanfares and bandas from all over the South of France for a weekend of conviviality and celebration.
The festival hosts groups with diverse styles: brass bands, Catalan charangas, festive fanfares, and traditional bandas. Among the groups that have participated: Boom Boom Brass Band (Toulouse), Taraf Goulamas (Montpellier), Canal Combo (Perpignan), Les Bizzar's (local Collioure fanfare), Les Astious (Gascogne), and Ho Peta Street Band (Catalan charanga).
On Saturday and Sunday, the fanfares parade through the streets at 11:30 AM and late afternoon, with a closing concert on Sunday afternoon in the Place du 18 Juin. The event is experienced in French and Catalan, reflecting Collioure's bilingual identity. All activities are free and open to everyone.
