About Comice de Lignières
The Comice Agricole de Lignères is a traditional Berry event held every seven years, celebrating the agricultural world of the former canton of Lignères, in the Cher. For two days, farmers, breeders, and artisans gather to showcase their expertise through competitions, demonstrations, and popular festivities. The last edition took place on August 23rd and 24th, 2025; the next is expected around 2032.
The Comice Agricole de Lignères is a major traditional event that brings together, every seven years, the actors of the agricultural world from the former canton of Lignères, in the Cher. This festive and friendly event honors the work of farmers, breeders, and artisans of the territory, in the heart of Berry.
The last edition was held on August 23rd and 24th, 2025, over two days and two communes (La Celle-Condé and Lignères), with a rich and varied program:
Saturday, August 23rd, 2025
From the morning, a producers' market, numerous exhibitors and artisans, inter-village games, and plowing competitions, followed in the evening by a dinner dance.
Sunday, August 24th, 2025
The day opened with a Comice mass, followed by a festive cavalcade with decorated floats, one of the highlights of the event, heading towards the Champ de Foire de Lignères.
Due to its septennial periodicity, the Comice Agricole de Lignères is not held every year: after the August 2025 edition, the next is expected around 2032. It is an exceptional event that perpetuates rural traditions and celebrates the agricultural identity of Berry.
