International Fantastic Short Film Festival in Rennes
Court Métrange is the only festival in France entirely dedicated to the fantastic genre in short films. Since its creation in 2003, the event has established itself as an essential reference for lovers of fantastic, strange, and unusual cinema in Rennes.
The heart of the festival is its international competition of fantastic, strange, and unusual short films. Screenings take place at Cinéma Pathé in Rennes and are also available online on the Shadowz platform. The 2024 edition brought together 3,402 spectators over 27 competition screenings.
The Strange Village, located on the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, is a space for activities, meetings, and exchanges between festival-goers, professionals, and the curious. During the 20th edition, the Village welcomed 5,500 visitors over 11 days.
Beyond the competition, Court Métrange offers conferences, meetings, unusual tours, exhibitions, "Long Métrange" sessions, and special screenings, including a Queer Métrange evening dedicated to LGBTQIA+ fantastic cinema.
The 22nd edition of Court Métrange will be held in September-October 2026 in Rennes.
