The meeting between Cistercian heritage and electronic music
The Crépuscules Festival was born from a bold idea: to take over the centuries-old site of the Notre-Dame de Fontaine-Guérard abbey in Radepont to organize an electronic music festival. This 12th-century Cistercian abbey, nestled in the Andelle valley in the heart of preserved nature, offers a mystical and enchanting setting that transforms the musical experience into a unique sensory journey. The association L'Ami Calme is behind this ambitious project which boldly combines Norman heritage and contemporary electronic culture.
Two stages to explore electronic sounds
The festival features two stages within the abbey and its gardens, offering an eclectic program that navigates between house, techno, disco, and minimal music. The artistic selection favors emerging DJs and producers alongside established names in the electronic scene, with artists such as Yenkov, Karla Lynch, Döwel, Paracelse, Sol, and Edgar Blanck. The sound atmosphere evolves over the hours, from sunset to the first light of dawn, in perfect harmony with the exceptional natural setting of the site.
A human-sized festival in a natural setting
True to the spirit of independent events, the Crépuscules Festival focuses on a limited capacity and an intimate atmosphere. The abbey estate offers a camping area in the surrounding meadows, with parking for cars and vans. Access to the site opens on Friday afternoon to allow festival-goers to settle in comfortably before the festivities begin. Food trucks and bars are present on-site for food and refreshments throughout the weekend.
The Fontaine-Guérard Abbey, a unique heritage gem
The Fontaine-Guérard Abbey, founded around 1190, is a jewel of Cistercian architecture in Normandy. Its remains—chapter house, vaulted cellar, ruins of the abbey church—create a spectacular natural scenography for the festival's sound and light installations. The lush vegetation that envelops the ruins and the nearby Andelle river add a poetic dimension to the event, making the Crépuscules Festival an experience that transcends a simple outdoor concert.
A new cultural offering for the Eure region
By establishing itself in Radepont, the Crépuscules Festival enriches the cultural offerings of the Eure department with a resolutely contemporary proposal. The festival attracts a passionate electronic music audience from Rouen, Paris, and all over Normandy, contributing to the tourist appeal of the Andelle valley and the rediscovery of this remarkable abbey heritage by a new audience.
