About Décibulles

Founded in 1992 by a group of friends, Décibulles has become the largest open-air contemporary music festival in Alsace and a flagship event in the Grand Est region. Every summer, the Chena site in Neuve-Église, nestled in the natural setting of the Villé Valley at the foot of the Vosges mountains, welcomes 36,000 festival-goers for three days of rock, electro, rap, ska, world music, and street arts. Supported by an association of 178 active members and over 1,600 volunteers, Décibulles champions an independent, associative, and eco-responsible model, featuring 55 beers on tap and free camping.

Born in 1992: From Village Fair to Alsace's Biggest Festival

The story of Décibulles began in 1992 when a group of friends from the Villé Valley decided to combine two Alsatian passions—music and beer—in an open-air festival. From the 700 spectators of the first edition, the event has continuously grown to reach 36,000 festival-goers in 2025, a record for this festival that has become the largest open-air contemporary music festival in Alsace and one of the unmissable cultural events in the Grand Est.

Le Chena: An Exceptional Natural Site

The festival unfolds at the Chena site, in Neuve-Église, a vast open-air space bordered by forests at the foot of the Vosges mountains. Since its establishment on this site in 2003, Décibulles has benefited from a natural setting that contributes to its unique atmosphere: amidst wooded mountains and Alsatian meadows, festival-goers experience an immersive event where music resonates in a grandiose landscape. The free camping, open from Friday noon to Monday noon, enhances this feeling of an enchanted interlude.

An Eclectic and Demanding Program

Décibulles champions a program that blends international headliners with emerging artists, covering a wide musical spectrum: rock, electro, rap, ska, world music, punk, soul, and drum and bass. The 2026 edition exemplifies this diversity with Madness, The Libertines, De La Soul, Brutalismus 3000, Last Train, Thylacine, La Mano 1.9, and Yamê. The festival is structured around a main stage, a street stage dedicated to street arts (circus, clown, brass band, theater), and the Kiosque, an intimate stage reserved for emerging artists.

An Associative and Eco-Responsible Model

Driven by an association of 178 active members and over 1,600 volunteers who dedicate approximately 58,000 hours of work each year, Décibulles claims an independent and associative model, resisting the privatization trends of festivals. Environmental commitment is at the heart of the project: selective sorting, reusable cups, dry toilets, short-circuit sourcing, and festival-goer awareness. Beer—with 55 varieties on tap from local, craft, and international breweries—remains the festival's totem and the cement of its convivial identity.
