About Demi Festival
Demi Festival — edition 2026
For its 10th anniversary, the Demi Festival returns to Sète from August 5 to 9, 2026, offering five days of independent rap between the city center and the Théâtre de la Mer Jean Vilar. Created by Sète rapper Demi Portion, one of the major events in independent French hip-hop is offering an extra day and a large free concert in the heart of the city to mark the decade.
Demi Festival 2026 — 10th Anniversary Edition
The Demi Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary from Wednesday, August 5th to Sunday, August 9th, 2026, in Sète. Conceived and led by local rapper Demi Portion, the event has grown over the last decade into one of France's premier independent rap gatherings, maintaining its strictly independent ethos since its debut in 2016.
Five days, two venues
To mark this milestone, the festival expands to five days with a two-part format: a free opening night at the Quai du Maroc in the heart of the city on Wednesday, August 5th, followed by four nights at the Théâtre de la Mer Jean Vilar, an open-air venue overlooking the Mediterranean, from Thursday, August 6th to Sunday, August 9th.
The Quai du Maroc will be set up to host over 4,000 people, featuring live graffiti demonstrations and on-site stalls. On Sunday, August 9th, the festival also extends to the Cinéma Le Nouveau Palace for two free screenings of a short film, attended by the director and the cast.
A lineup of over 50 artists
The program brings together legendary figures of French rap (JoeyStarr from NTM, Oxmo Puccino, Rim'K from 113, Le Rat Luciano from Fonky Family, Seth Gueko, Imhotep from IAM, Rocca from La Cliqua, Lino from Ärsenik, Sako from Chiens de Paille) and independent scene favorites (Hugo TSR, Kacem Wapalek, La Caution, Don Choa, Manu Militari, X-Men…), alongside Demi Portion himself. Each evening will feature surprise guests.
Ticketing
Tickets for the four nights at the Théâtre de la Mer go on sale Sunday, May 10th, 2026, at noon on Shotgun.live. Tickets traditionally sell out very quickly: the event is expected to be a full house.

Demi Festival in Sète
The Demi Festival is a major event for independent French rap and a highlight of the summer in Sète, located in the Hérault department of Occitanie. Created in 2016 by local rapper Demi Portion, who wanted to perform in his hometown, it has established itself over the last decade as a benchmark for French hip-hop.
A Sète success story
The very first edition took place on August 11, 12, and 13, 2016; tickets for all three nights sold out in minutes, an unprecedented feat for the city. Since then, the festival has maintained its strictly independent ethos, with the goal of bringing influential artists who have never performed in Sète to the city while keeping the event accessible to the public.
The Théâtre de la Mer, a unique setting
The main events are held at the Théâtre de la Mer Jean Vilar, an open-air amphitheater built against Fort Saint-Pierre, overlooking the Mediterranean. Since 2026, the festival has also taken over the Quai du Maroc in the city center for a large, free opening night.
A lineup blending legends and the indie scene
Each edition brings together legendary figures of French rap and artists from the independent scene, featuring DJ sets, surprise guests, and activities centered around hip-hop culture (live graffiti, screenings, and stalls). The full program is announced every spring on the festival's official social media channels, and tickets typically go on sale in May.
