The international festival that reveals the talents of tomorrow's design
Launched in 2006 at the Villa Noailles, Design Parade Hyères is the international design festival that accompanies young designers from around the world each summer in the realization of their projects. Every end of June, the Villa Noailles hosts a world-class competition where finalists present unprecedented prototypes and installations to a jury of professionals. In 2025, it celebrates its 19th edition.
Since 2006, Design Parade Hyères has established itself as one of the most influential and anticipated design festivals on the international creative scene. Organized every end of June by the Villa Noailles in Hyères, it serves as a unique launchpad for young designers worldwide, offering visibility, funding, and professional support to the most promising talents.
Design Parade Hyères takes place within the grounds of the Villa Noailles, a masterpiece of modernist architecture designed by Robert Mallet-Stevens between 1923 and 1933. This historic monument, perched on the heights of Hyères with panoramic views of the harbor, symbolizes the constant dialogue between architecture, decorative arts, and the art of living. It provides the ideal setting for a festival dedicated to design, a discipline rooted in the interplay of form, function, and material.
The festival is structured around an international competition open to designers under 35 years old. Each year, hundreds of applications are received from around the world. After selection by an expert committee, about ten finalists are chosen to participate in the festival. In the weeks leading up to the event, they work at the Villa Noailles to design and produce their pieces, benefiting from access to workshops, advice from artisans, and logistical support from the festival team.
At the end of the festival, the finalists present their creations—prototypes, objects, installations—to a jury of international design figures: creative directors, gallerists, journalists, and representatives of major manufacturers. The awards include:
Beyond the professional dimension of the competition, Design Parade Hyères is deeply committed to outreach and public engagement. During the four days of the festival, the finalists' creations are exhibited in the rooms and gardens of the Villa Noailles, accessible to the general public. Guided tours, workshops for children, conferences, and meetings with designers allow everyone to experience design as a living, everyday, and emotional discipline.
The festival also features exhibitions by established designers and site-specific installations within the Villa's exceptional architectural spaces, creating a dialogue between the history of modernism and contemporary creation.
Initiated by the Villa Noailles, the Design Parade universe has expanded with the creation of Design Parade Toulon, an international interior design festival held each summer. These two festivals now form a coherent ecosystem that positions the Var region as a benchmark territory for contemporary creation in design, interior architecture, and applied arts.
Former laureates of Design Parade Hyères now form an active international alumni network, testifying to the festival's role in launching new generations of recognized designers.
The 2025 edition, the 19th of its name, will be held at the end of June at the Villa Noailles, continuing the festival's summer tradition. A selection of international designers will present their creations in the Villa's spaces, confirming Design Parade Hyères' place among the essential events on the international design calendar.
The 20th edition of Design Parade Hyères will be held at the end of June 2026 at the Villa Noailles. For this special anniversary, applications were open until February 1, 2026. This jubilee edition promises an exceptional international selection, twenty years after the festival's creation which launched an entire generation of designers recognized worldwide.
