Every year from mid-July to mid-August, the town of Vernon launches its major summer program, Destination Vernon. This free, family-friendly event transforms the town on the banks of the Seine into a true holiday destination, with daily activities combining culture, sport, and conviviality in the heart of the town and along its riverbanks.

Sport at the Heart of Summer

Destination Vernon places a central focus on sports activities, which are free and open to all. Visitors can try their hand at basketball, kayaking, volleyball, climbing, skateboarding, and many other disciplines thanks to Vernon's sports clubs, which offer supervised taster sessions. The giant 50-meter water slide, installed on the Anatole-France promenade, is a hit with families, while the pedal boats offer romantic or family outings on the Seine.

Culture and Open-Air Performances

The cultural aspect of Destination Vernon is just as rich. Open-air cinema screenings are scheduled by the water, and concerts and music performances liven up summer evenings. Creative workshops at the Musée Blanche Hoschedé-Monet, located opposite Claude Monet's gardens in Giverny, allow visitors to discover the impressionist world in an inspiring setting. Dance performances, DJ sets, and artistic shows complete the program.

Les Tourelles, Epicenter of the Festivities

The Parc des Tourelles, on the right bank of the Seine, is the epicenter of Destination Vernon. This emblematic site, overlooked by the medieval towers of the old Vernon bridge, hosts the main summer activities: treetop adventure courses, sports taster sessions, concerts, and screenings. Activities are mainly concentrated on weekends, with highlights such as the Vern'On Fire Festival, an inaugural three-day music event featuring various atmospheres.
