The Duck's and Rabbit's Festival: music at the summit of the Vosges

Created in 2007 by the Duck and Rabbit association, this music festival was born from the desire of a handful of passionate locals from La Bresse to liven up the resort of La Bresse during the summer. What was initially just a modest musical gathering among friends has transformed over the years into a true cultural event, attracting a loyal audience from all over the Vosges massif and beyond.

An exceptional mountain setting

The festival takes place on the Place du Champtel, the beating heart of La Bresse, nestled at an altitude of 636 meters in the Moselotte valley. Surrounded by the peaks of the Hohneck, the Schlucht, and the Kastelberg, this square offers a striking natural backdrop for open-air concerts. The pure mountain air, the cool summer evenings, and the low-angled light of the setting sun on the Vosges ridges give each edition a magical and intimate atmosphere.

An eclectic and accessible program

True to its open and curious spirit, the Duck's and Rabbit's Festival offers a program that mixes rock, French chanson, folk, world music, and local discoveries. The festival showcases regional bands from the Grand Est region while also welcoming artists from the national scene. Each edition holds its share of surprises with promising opening acts and confirmed headliners, in a human-sized format that fosters proximity between musicians and the audience.

A festival rooted in its territory

Driven by passionate volunteers, the Duck's and Rabbit's Festival is deeply rooted in the life of La Bresse. The festival relies on local businesses, restaurateurs, and accommodation providers to offer festival-goers a complete experience: Vosges cuisine with pies, Munster cheese, and blueberries, artisanal beers brewed in the Vosges, and accommodation in mountain guesthouses or nearby campsites. The event contributes to the summer tourism appeal of the resort, usually known for its ski slopes and hiking trails.

The Duck and Rabbit spirit

The festival's name, both quirky and poetic, reflects the state of mind of its founders: not to take themselves too seriously, to mix genres and universes, and to offer everyone a unique experience according to their own perspective—like the famous duck-rabbit optical illusion where everyone sees what they want. This philosophy is reflected in the programming, the atmosphere, and the warm welcome that are the signature of this unique mountain festival.
