About Encounters... in the Countryside

In Rieupeyroux, Aveyron, the Rencontres... à la campagne festival has been bringing cinema to the heart of the village since 1998, when a group of enthusiasts founded the association of the same name. Every year in September, for one week, the village hall hosts back-to-back screenings from morning until night, featuring staff picks, classic films, and previews, with opportunities to meet film professionals between sessions.

The association has a dual mission: to bring high-quality cinema to rural areas and to ensure everyone has access to the best of world cinema. Beyond the festival week, it operates a year-round cinema and conducts educational outreach programs for local schools.

Screenings run continuously starting at 9:00 AM for afternoon sessions and from 7:30 PM for evening sessions at the Cinéma de Rieupeyroux. A bar and food service are available on-site all day near the marquee.

Single screening: 5 € · 6-ticket pass (full price): 25 € · 6-ticket pass (students/job seekers): 20 € · Under 15s (excluding previews): free · Concert-aperitifs: free. Tickets sold on-site only, by cash or check.
