Equit'Art: Where Equestrian Art Meets Live Performance in Lescar

The Equit'Art festival was born in Lescar with the ambition to merge the worlds of equestrian art and live performance. In a region where equestrian tradition is deeply rooted, this unique event invited spectators to discover the horse in an artistic light, far from traditional sports competitions.

A Program of Grace and Creativity

Each edition of Equit'Art brought together equestrian show companies, rider-artists, and creators to present performances blending artistic dressage, vaulting, theater, music, and dance. The shows took place outdoors, in the natural setting of the Club Hippique de Lescar, offering spectators exceptional proximity to the horses and artists.

Workshops for Everyone

The festival also offered discovery workshops for young audiences, allowing children to learn about horse care, riding, and equestrian arts. Encounters with rider-artists completed the program, providing a privileged insight into the behind-the-scenes of equestrian creation.

Rooted in Béarn's Equestrian Heritage

For centuries, Béarn has maintained a special relationship with the horse, inherited from the Pyrenean pastoral tradition and royal stud farms. Equit'Art was part of this lineage by offering a contemporary and artistic perspective on this age-old tradition, contributing to the valorization of local equestrian heritage.

A Festival That Left Its Mark on Lescar

Although the festival ceased its activities after three editions, Equit'Art left a lasting impression on Lescar's cultural landscape. It helped introduce contemporary equestrian arts to the people of Béarn and paved the way for other initiatives combining equestrian culture and live performance in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.
