The Scriptorial opens to the night

Every third Saturday of May, the Scriptorial d'Avranches, museum of manuscripts from Mont-Saint-Michel, participates in the European Museum Night by opening its doors for free in the evening. This unique museum in France, which preserves and presents precious medieval manuscripts from the Mont-Saint-Michel abbey, offers an unprecedented visiting experience during this exceptional evening.

Scripto-games and night animations

The program for the Museum Night at the Scriptorial is designed to appeal to all audiences. The flagship animation, the "Scripto-games", offers games and activities about the Middle Ages, manuscripts, and illuminations from 6 PM to midnight. Visitors can try their hand at medieval calligraphy, discover the secrets of manuscript creation, and explore the world of monastic scribes in an enchanting nocturnal atmosphere.

The Scriptorial preserves an exceptional collection of medieval manuscripts from Mont-Saint-Michel, some dating back to the 8th century.
