From Festiblues in Kaysersberg to Le Grillen in Colmar
The Festiblues adventure began in 2012 in Kaysersberg-Vignoble, where the festival quickly established itself as a must-attend event for blues lovers in Alsace. For six editions, until 2018, the festival hosted international artists in the picturesque setting of this wine village. After a three-year hiatus, Festiblues was reborn in 2022 in a new format, moving to Le Grillen, Colmar's contemporary music venue, organized by BluesFrog Productions, an artistic agency specializing in blues and jazz.
Five Evenings, Five Musical Journeys
Each Festiblues edition features five concerts spread over two to three weeks in the spring. The format is simple and effective: one evening, one artist or band, a total immersion in the blues universe. The lineup is international, bringing together musicians from all continents—United States, Canada, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Cambodia, Spain—to explore all facets of the blues: Chicago blues, Delta blues, boogie woogie, soul, blues rock, roots, and swing.
Le Grillen: An Intimate Setting for the Blues
Le Grillen, located at 19 rue des Jardins in the heart of Colmar, is a human-sized contemporary music venue managed by the City of Colmar. Its limited capacity and warm acoustics make it an ideal place for the blues, where the close proximity between artists and the audience creates a unique connection. Doors open at 7:30 PM and concerts begin at 8:00 PM, in a cozy atmosphere conducive to discovery.
Blues in All Its Splendor
What sets Festiblues apart from other blues events is the diversity of styles represented. The festival doesn't just celebrate classic blues; it explores its contemporary branches and cultural fusions. In 2026, the lineup illustrates this philosophy with Boogielicious (boogie woogie from the Netherlands and Germany), Veronica Sbergia (roots, Italy), Greg Copeland (American soul), Bonny B. (Franco-Swiss Chicago blues), and Kai Strauss (German blues rock) for a closing gala.
Ambition: Anchoring the Blues in Alsace
Driven by BluesFrog Productions, Festiblues aims to confirm the essential place of diversity and cross-influences in today's blues. The festival seeks to demonstrate that the blues is a living, constantly evolving music that continues to inspire and unite across borders and generations.
