20 Years Kicking: twenty years of punk to celebrate in Vitry-sur-Seine

The 20 Years Kicking festival was born from a simple and explosive desire: to properly celebrate the twenty years of existence of the independent label Kicking Records, a pillar of the French punk-rock scene. To mark this anniversary, the label's founders have imagined an event worthy of two decades of rebellious discography: two consecutive evenings, twelve bands, one venue — the Kilowatt in Vitry-sur-Seine.

Kicking Records, twenty years serving punk

Founded at the turn of the 2000s, Kicking Records has established itself as one of the most active independent labels on the French-speaking punk and hardcore scene. With a DIY (Do It Yourself) approach true to the punk ethic, the label has supported dozens of French and international bands, producing albums that have become classics of the alternative scene. The anniversary festival is an opportunity to bring part of the Kicking family together on stage.

The program: two nights, twelve bands

The festival's lineup is a concentrate of punk energy in all its stylistic diversity. Friday, April 10, 2026 kicks off the festivities with Lou K, Bad Bad Bird, Schlaasss, Krav Boca, and Poésie Zéro, for a first night with accents mixing punk-rock, hardcore, and electro-punk. Saturday, April 11, 2026 raises the stakes with Jetsex, Not Scientists, Les Sheriff, Cemented Minds, Le Réparateur, Burning Heads — a monument of the French punk scene — and Do It Later.

The presence of Burning Heads in the lineup is a strong symbol: this band from Orléans, active since the early 1990s, is one of the most influential French punk bands and a pillar of the Kicking Records catalog. Their headlining performance on Saturday night is a tribute to twenty years of loyalty and friendship.

Le Kilowatt, temple of alternative rock in the Parisian suburbs

Le Kilowatt, located at 18 rue des Fusillés in Vitry-sur-Seine, is one of the most emblematic concert venues in the Parisian suburbs. For years, this independent venue has hosted the punk, metal, hardcore, and alternative scene in a spirit of proximity and authenticity that perfectly matches the philosophy of Kicking Records. The intimate format of the venue — a few hundred people — guarantees a raw and intense concert experience, without giant screens or distance between the artists and their audience.

A family celebration
