A 13th edition dedicated to painting in cinema

From April 26 to 28, 2026, the Le Mondial cinema in Collioure hosts the 13th edition of the Art & Toiles festival, organized by the Marcel Oms film club. True to its spirit, the event offers an eclectic program combining fiction films and documentaries on the life and work of great painters.

Painters in the spotlight

In a nod to current artistic events, the 2026 edition honors Matisse and Renoir, but also Velázquez, Michelangelo, Gauguin and Caillebotte, through a selection of documentaries and fiction films.

Discussions and meetings

The screenings are accompanied by interventions from passionate speakers — a film historian, a writer, and a guide-lecturer — as well as time for discussion and sharing. Book signing sessions are organized in partnership with the Oxymore bookstore.

Program — 13th edition (April 26 to 28, 2026)

Screenings take place every evening at the Le Mondial cinema in Collioure, generally from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

The 2026 edition highlights painting in cinema, focusing on the following painters:

• Matisse — a major figure of Fauvism, intimately linked to Collioure
• Renoir
• Velázquez
• Michelangelo
• Gauguin
• Caillebotte

Each screening (documentary or fiction film) is accompanied by interventions from speakers — a film historian, a writer, a guide-lecturer — and book signing sessions with the Oxymore bookstore.
