The only festival in the world dedicated to animation voices
Voix d'Etoiles was born in 2007 in Port-Leucate, in the Aude region, from a simple yet original idea: to celebrate the voices of animated cinema. It is the only festival in France and the world to award actors and actresses who lend their voices to characters in animated films and series. Organized every year in October at the Espace Henry de Monfreid and Clap Cine in Port-Leucate, it has established itself as a benchmark for professionals in dubbing, directing, and animation film production.
Screenings, competitions, and previews
Each edition offers a rich program: feature films in competition (5 selected films), previews, short films, animated series, and graduation films from the best animation schools. In 2025 (19th edition), 27 feature films, 4 animated series, 7 short films, and 10 graduation films were screened. The audience votes for the best graduation film, while a professional jury awards prizes for best female voice, best male voice, best original score, best animated series, and best short film.
Meet the voices of the characters
One of the major attractions of Voix d'Etoiles is the opportunity to meet the actors who dub the characters in our favorite animated films. Autograph sessions, masterclasses, dubbing workshops, and round tables allow the public to discover the behind-the-scenes of this often-unseen profession. Composers, directors, and producers also participate in discussions, offering a complete perspective on the making of an animated film.
A family-friendly and festive festival
Voix d'Etoiles cultivates a family-friendly and accessible spirit. The Cine Bout Choux sessions offer special screenings for toddlers, while exhibitions – like the Goldorak XperienZ presented in 2025 – delight fans of all ages. The festival is supported by the City of Leucate, the Casino Circus de Leucate (main private partner), and the Occitanie Region. It contributes to the cultural attractiveness of Port-Leucate in the off-season and to the influence of the French animation industry.
