2026
About Lumières sur le Quai
Lumières sur le Quai is the annual festival hosted by the Quai des Savoirs, Toulouse Métropole's center for scientific, technical, and industrial culture. Every autumn, artists and scientists come together to explore a societal theme through exhibitions, immersive installations, screenings, workshops, and discussions. The Quai des Savoirs has been organizing this event since the venue first opened in 2016.
Lumières sur le Quai — edition 2026
The 2026 edition, "Our Futures Together," runs from October 17th to November 1st at the Quai des Savoirs. It marks the institution's tenth anniversary and its full reopening following a year of renovations, featuring the inauguration of a new 120-seat auditorium, the Agora des futurs. Exhibitions, screenings, immersive installations, discussions, and workshops explore how scientists, artists, and citizens are envisioning the future of research and the world to come.
Ten years of the Quai des Savoirs: a renovated space
Closed since November 2025 for the construction of the Agora des futurs—its new 120-seat auditorium—the Quai des Savoirs fully reopens in October 2026 to celebrate its tenth anniversary. The Lumières sur le Quai festival will accompany this grand reopening.
The future of science at the heart of the program
This edition explores how scientists imagine the research of tomorrow and how these futures are depicted by artists, including science fiction authors, comic book creators, animation directors, street artists, and photographers. The central theme, "Our Futures Together," also invites citizens to take part in this collective reflection.
Programme Lumières sur le Quai 2026
The program for the 2026 edition has not yet been released by the organizers; it will be added as soon as it becomes available.
A festival driven by a hub of scientific culture
The Quai des Savoirs opened its doors in Toulouse in 2016 on Allée Matilda as an institution under the direction of Toulouse Métropole's scientific, technical, and industrial culture department. Lumières sur le Quai is its annual highlight: each edition features a new theme, inviting the public to explore a societal issue through both art and science.
A unique experience every year
The 2024 edition focused on artificial intelligence ("Creating with AI?"), featuring a concert by Jean-François Zygel and the Orchestre national du Capitole. The 2025 edition, "Emportés par la foule" (Swept Away by the Crowd), was held under the "Événements détonnants" label, reflecting the institution's commitment to eco-friendly and inclusive practices.
A lasting partnership, a recurring event
The festival takes place throughout the exhibition spaces and outdoor areas of the Quai des Savoirs on Allée Matilda in Toulouse.
