Comic Books in Celebration in Jarville-la-Malgrange

The BD Bulles d'Histoires Festival is a comic book fair held annually in late April or early May at the Collège-Lycée La Malgrange in Jarville-la-Malgrange, in the southern suburbs of Nancy. Organized by the school and its association, this friendly festival brings together authors, illustrators, and comic book enthusiasts in an atypical and warm setting. Admission is free.

Over 30 Artists for Signings

Each edition of the festival welcomes over 30 authors and illustrators who come to sign their albums and interact with the public. The fair offers a great diversity of styles and genres: classic Franco-Belgian comics, historical comics, manga, fantasy, science fiction, humor, and youth comics. Visitors can discover new talents and find established authors such as Pascal Bresson, Daniel Kox, Gwendal Lemercier, or Philippe Tarral.

Thematic Exhibitions and Conferences

Each year, the festival offers highlights centered around the year's theme. In 2025, for its 8th edition, Bulles d'Histoires paid tribute to cinema with an exhibition of about twenty drawings by Gwendal Lemercier depicting famous actors and actresses. The 2026 edition highlighted history and fantastic universes populated by elves and goblins, with a charitable drawn conference benefiting the Trisomie 21 de Meurthe-et-Moselle association and a presentation by Régis Hector of his illustrated journal Ma guerre (illustrée) d'Ukraine.

Meetings and Activities

Beyond signings, Bulles d'Histoires offers meetings with authors, fun activities (scrapbooking, trollball, raffle, Butter Nuts orchestra), and drawing workshops for the youngest. The partner bookstore Le Cahier bleu and a second-hand book area allow visitors to discover and acquire the presented works. On-site catering (barbecue, crepes, refreshment stand) completes the offer. The family atmosphere of the festival, hosted in a school, makes it a particularly welcoming event for families and young readers.

An Original School Setting

The Collège-Lycée La Malgrange, located at 76 avenue de la Malgrange in Jarville-la-Malgrange, offers a spacious and suitable setting to host the fair. The school's rooms are transformed during the event into exhibition galleries and signing areas, creating a unique atmosphere that distinguishes Bulles d'Histoires from other comic book fairs in the region. Access is facilitated for people with reduced mobility (PMR) and parking is available on site.

An Event Rooted in Local Life

The BD Bulles d'Histoires Festival contributes to the cultural influence of Jarville-la-Malgrange and the Nancy metropolitan area. By associating the world of comic books with that of education, it encourages reading and creativity among young audiences while offering a moment of relaxation and discovery for comic book enthusiasts of all ages.
