About Bulles d'Histoires
The BD Bulles d'Histoires Festival is a comic book fair organized annually in late April or early May in Jarville-la-Malgrange, within the Collège-Lycée La Malgrange. Since its creation, this event has welcomed over 30 authors and illustrators for signing sessions, thematic exhibitions, and public meetings. A 9th edition centered on history and fantasy
The 9th edition of Bulles d'Histoires took place over two days at Lycée La Malgrange in Jarville-la-Malgrange, with an opening drawn conference on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 8 PM and the main day of the fair on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM. The edition honored significant historical figures as well as fantastic universes populated by elves and goblins, in a mix of history, humor, heroic fantasy, and adventure.
Over 30 authors for signing sessions
Over 30 comic book and children's album illustrators were present to sign their works. Among the confirmed guests: Philippe Bajolet, Pascal Bresson, Florian Galasse, Gilb, François Plisson, Régis Hector (Metz press cartoonist), Daniel Kox, Gwendal Lemercier, Philippe Tarral, Laurent Cagniat, Minna Yu (children's illustrator) and Santaro (mangaka). The selection covered all genres: Franco-Belgian comics, historical comics, manga, heroic fantasy, humor, and children's comics.
Charity drawn conference and comic report presentation
Two highlights marked the edition. On Wednesday, May 6, at 8 PM, a charity drawn conference brought together Philippe Bajolet, Pascal Bresson, Florian Galasse, Gilb, and François Plisson around the question « How do comics portray our society? Perspectives on our differences, our values, and our stories » — the drawings created live were auctioned for the benefit of the Trisomie 21 de Meurthe-et-Moselle association. On Friday, May 8, at 2:30 PM, Régis Hector presented his illustrated journal Ma guerre (illustrée) d'Ukraine (2 volumes), a testimony to the daily life of Ukrainians.
Activities all day long
In addition to the signing sessions, the festival offered: the Le Cahier bleu bookstore, a second-hand bookseller area, the Butter Nuts orchestra, a large raffle, scrapbooking workshops, trollball demonstrations, as well as a barbecue, a crêperie, and a refreshment stand on site. A partnership with the France Télévisions platform « Fans de Culture » offered the chance to win three albums from the series Les voyages de Gros Nounours (Iceland, Bora Bora, China).
