Blues settles in the Cévennes
Since 2017, the Festival Blues & Co has been making the village of Vialas vibrate to the rhythm of blues and associated music. Created by the association Blues and Co, founded in 2018 and based in Les Hortals in Vialas, the festival aims to promote and share blues and related music in the Cévennes through various musical events: concerts, music workshops, conferences, and film screenings.
Two evenings of free open-air concerts
Each year in July, the festival takes over the Place de l'Ancienne Gendarmerie in Vialas for two evenings of open-air concerts. The program features blues, roots blues, blues rock, and reggae artists, offering a lively and eclectic panorama of blues-inspired music. Two concerts per evening follow each other starting at 8 PM, allowing spectators to discover various bands in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.
A rich and varied program
Throughout its editions, the Festival Blues & Co has hosted artists with diverse styles, from traditional blues to contemporary blues, including blues rock and reggae. The 2025 edition notably featured performances by Leanwolf, Dr Sugar, Redwood Factory, and Charb-On, confirming the festival's commitment to mixing discoveries with recognized artists from the French and European blues scene.
A festival rooted in its territory
Located in Vialas, in the heart of the Cévennes National Park, the Festival Blues & Co benefits from an exceptional natural setting. The village, nestled at 600 meters altitude at the foot of the Trenze rocks, offers a green and stone backdrop for the deep sounds of the blues. Admission to the concerts is completely free, in line with the spirit of sharing and accessibility that drives the organizing association.
Conviviality and gastronomy
The concert evenings are accompanied by a bar and catering service on site, available by reservation. This is an opportunity to taste local specialties while enjoying the concerts under the Cévenol stars. The warm and relaxed atmosphere of the festival makes it a popular event for blues lovers and curious visitors passing through the region.
An event in full growth
From its first edition in 2017 to its 9th edition in 2025, the Festival Blues & Co has continued to grow, attracting an ever-larger audience from all over Lozère, Gard, and Occitanie. The festival actively contributes to the summer cultural dynamism of Vialas, which also hosts the Jazz à Vialas Festival in August, making the village a true musical hub in the Cévennes.
