The biggest country gathering in the Savoie Alps
The Festival Country de Tarentaise is the unmissable event for country music and culture enthusiasts in the Alps. Jointly organized by the associations Aime Country and Albertville Country, this friendly festival is held every August at the Salle de la Pierre du Roy in Albertville. Since its creation, it has brought together a community of dancers, musicians, and western universe lovers, offering three days of concerts, country dances, and dance workshops in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere. In 2025, the festival celebrated its 15th edition, confirming its lasting presence in the cultural landscape of Tarentaise.
Since 2011, the Festival Country de Tarentaise has brought together country music, line dance, and western culture enthusiasts every summer in Albertville, in the heart of the Tarentaise valley. This festival, driven by two local associations — Aime Country and Albertville Country — was born from the shared passion of its members for the country universe and the desire to create a festive and unifying event in the Savoie Alps.
For three days, Albertville's Salle de la Pierre du Roy transforms into a true Alpine saloon, hosting concerts by French and international country bands, dances, and country dance introductions. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere of the festival attracts a loyal and growing audience, coming from all over the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and beyond.
The Festival Country de Tarentaise stands out for its program, which mixes established bands from the French country scene with international artists on their European tours. In 2025, for its 15th edition, the festival welcomed the River Road Trio, from the United States for their very first performance in France, as well as the band Crazy Pug, a regular on the French country circuit.
The festival is structured around three themed evenings:
Country dance workshops (line dance, couple dance) are offered during the day on Saturday and Sunday, led by experienced instructors from both organizing associations.
The Festival Country de Tarentaise is a great example of associative dynamism in an Alpine setting. Entirely organized by passionate volunteers, it benefits from the support of the City of Albertville and local partners. Beyond the annual event, the Aime Country and Albertville Country associations offer country dance classes throughout the year, contributing to the vitality of this community in Savoie.
The 16th edition of the Festival Country de Tarentaise will be held from August 21 to 23, 2026, at the Salle de la Pierre du Roy in Albertville. Three days of concerts, country dances, and dance workshops are scheduled for this new edition of the biggest country gathering in the Alps.
