The 43rd edition of the Maguelone Early Music Festival takes place from June 4 to 12, 2026 in Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone (Hérault), mainly within the exceptional setting of Maguelone Cathedral. Under the theme of Resonances, this edition explores the dialogues between scholarly music and popular traditions.
Maguelone Early Music Festival — 2026 edition
The 43rd edition of the Maguelone Early Music Festival takes place from June 4 to 12, 2026, mainly in Maguelone Cathedral in Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone (Hérault), as well as at the Jérôme Savary Theatre and in Montpellier. The festival is themed around Resonances, exploring the dialogues between scholarly music and popular traditions.
A highlight of this edition: the return of Jordi Savall for the closing concert on June 12, with the ensemble Hespèrion XXI, focusing on the art of variation and improvisation, from Iberian traditions to the music of the New World. The edition also pays tribute to Denis Raisin Dadre, founder of the Doulce Mémoire ensemble.
