A unique festival in the heart of the Corbières
Nestled in the medieval town of Lagrasse, one of France's most beautiful villages bordered by the Orbieu river and dominated by its Benedictine abbey, the Festival des Abracadagrasses was born in 2000 from the desire of the association Artkissonn' to create a musical and artistic event rooted in this Corbières territory. For over twenty-five years, the festival has remained true to its founding values: a demanding and eclectic program, a friendly atmosphere, and a resolutely open spirit to the world.
World music, circus, and street arts
The Abracadagrasses program is distinguished by its musical diversity, mixing afrobeat, reggae, gnawa music, festive brass bands, committed French chanson, and electronic creations. Each edition hosts about ten groups from all over the world, offering evening concerts on the main stage and street entertainment throughout the day. Sunday is traditionally dedicated to circus and street arts, with companies offering acrobatic shows, juggling, clowning, and street theater in the village alleys.
An exceptional medieval setting
The festival takes over the squares, alleys, and riverbanks of the Orbieu in Lagrasse, transforming the village into an open-air festival space. Stages are set up on the Place de la Halle and in the village gardens, offering spectators a unique setting between ancient stones and century-old plane trees. The Select Aïoli, the festival's friendly space, offers local food, drinks, and musical ambiance throughout the day, perpetuating the guinguette spirit dear to the Abracadagrasses.
Community and territorial commitment
Led by the association Artkissonn' and a team of passionate volunteers, the festival is part of a local cultural development approach and the enhancement of the Corbières heritage. Les Abracadagrasses actively participates in the animation of the village of Lagrasse throughout the year and contributes to the cultural influence of the Aude region. The festival favors short supply chains for catering and partnerships with local stakeholders, out of concern for environmental and social responsibility.
