The fun and family festival of Aire-sur-l'Adour
The Festival du Jeu d'Aire is a fun event organized every year in Aire-sur-l'Adour by the Case Départ association. For two days, the Community Center transforms into a huge play area open to all audiences. Modern and classic board games, retro gaming, giant wooden games, throwing games, a toddler area, and on-site catering make up a friendly and family-friendly program that is completely free, celebrating the joy of games in all its forms.
The Festival du Jeu d'Aire is the flagship fun event in Aire-sur-l'Adour, in the Landes region. Organized by the Case Départ association, this two-day festival transforms the town's Community Center into a huge playground open to everyone, from the youngest to the oldest.
The festival offers a rich and diverse gaming experience. Board game enthusiasts can discover the latest market releases as well as the greatest classics, guided by volunteer facilitators ready to explain the rules. A retro gaming area takes visitors back to the world of yesteryear's consoles and video games, while oversized giant wooden games take over the outdoor space for giant and spectacular matches.
Throwing games and skill games delight challenge lovers, while a dedicated toddler area welcomes the little ones in a safe and adapted environment. Tournaments punctuate the weekend, offering competitive players the chance to compete against each other in a friendly and sporty atmosphere.
The Case Départ association, based in Aire-sur-l'Adour, works year-round to promote board games as a vector for social connection and intergenerational exchange. The Festival du Jeu d'Aire is the association's annual highlight, mobilizing dozens of passionate volunteers to welcome and guide visitors in their gaming discovery.
Admission to the Festival du Jeu d'Aire is completely free, in line with the association's commitment to making games accessible to as many people as possible. A catering area is available on-site for refreshments between games, in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
The festival takes place at the Community Center in Aire-sur-l'Adour, a spacious and covered venue that can accommodate the various game worlds, regardless of the weather. The outdoor area hosts the giant wooden games and throwing games.
Aire-sur-l'Adour is accessible via the D932 from Mont-de-Marsan (30 min) and the D934 from Pau (30 min). The town is also accessible from Bordeaux in 1h40 via the A65. Free parking is available near the Community Center and in the town center.

Volunteers from the Case Départ association are present at all times to explain the rules of the games and assist beginner players.
Admission is completely free. Access to all games and activities is free, without registration or reservation. All games are provided free of charge by the association and its partners.
A catering area is available on-site for refreshments throughout the day. Hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, and snacks are offered at reasonable prices. You can also bring your own picnic.
The festival is open to all audiences, from toddlers to seniors. The toddler area is specially designed for children under 6 years old, with adapted games and a safe floor. The Community Center is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Pets are not allowed within the festival grounds.
Saturday evening is an opportunity to discover longer and more strategic games, in a relaxed atmosphere among enthusiasts. Come early on Sunday to make the most of the game offerings, as game tables fill up quickly.
