About Festival du Vigan
The Vigan Festival is a classical music festival organized every summer in the heart of the Cévennes, in the Gard. Without any particular specialization or theme, its program ranges from recitals to large symphonic concerts, and from baroque music to contemporary creations. Concerts take place in Le Vigan, a sub-prefecture of the Gard, as well as in the temples and churches of the villages nestled on the slopes of Mont Aigoual.
Festival du Vigan — edition 2026
The 50th edition of the Festival du Vigan takes place from July 17 to August 25, 2026, in the heart of the Cévennes, in the Gard. A classical music festival without any particular specialization or theme, it offers a wide range of programming, from recitals to grand symphonic concerts, and from baroque music to contemporary creations, in the sub-prefecture of Gard but also in the temples and churches clinging to the slopes of Mont Aigoual.
Festival du Vigan 2026 — 50th edition
From July 17 to August 25, 2026, the Festival du Vigan celebrates its 50th edition. For nearly half a century, this event has shone in a region of the Cévennes that has preserved its beauty and authentic culture.
Concerts take place in Le Vigan as well as in the surrounding towns and villages (Aumessas, Arrigas, Bréau, Saint-Bonnet-de-Salendrinque, Saint-Martial, Valleraugue, Saint-Bauzille-de-Putois), in exceptional venues: Cévennes churches and temples, Châteaux de Mareilles, du Castellas and d'Assas, Grotte des Demoiselles. Most concerts start at 9:30 PM.
